The Emergency Management Department is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive emergency management program. This program will:
- Enact policies, plans and practices that protect life, property, the environment, and all aspects of University operations
- Enhance the University's resiliency by leveraging resources and building capabilities before, during, and after emergencies occur
- Address the emergency-related needs of the entire University community
- Promote a culture of preparedness at Illinois State University
- Align with the University's Strategic Plan
- Align with State of Illinois and Federal Emergency Management Agency principles, guidelines, regulations, and standards
- Integrate all levels of University emergency-related policies, programs, and practices
- Develop partnerships to aide in maintaining an effective emergency management program
