7.7.6 Registration Blocks

Students with delinquencies will be prevented from registering until the delinquency has been cleared. There are two methods of blocking a student's registration, the Centralized Accounts Receivable System (CARS), and all other delinquencies.

If the student has a past due amount of $25.00 or greater in his/her student account (CARS), his/her registration will be blocked until the amount is paid, or a clearance based on a deferment is put on the student account.

At each new registration period a letter is sent to all the areas that may have a student owing money to the University. These units submit a list of all the past due accounts owed to them. These are then entered into a delinquency file on the computer. When the student makes a payment to clear the delinquency, the receipt must be brought to the Student Accounts area of the Cashiers' Office to have a clearance put on the file. The student may then register. If there are questions, please contact Student Accounts at 309-438-5643.
