3.6.16 Civil Service Corrective Behavior System


At Illinois State University, discipline is designed to correct behavior. Under a system of corrective discipline, management seeks to improve behavior through a series of actions which are appropriate given the nature of the employee's infraction. Oral warnings and written reprimands may be issued by the department. Suspensions are implemented by the Office of Human Resources and are normally recommended by the department. Discharge is recommended by the Office of Human Resources to the State Universities Civil Service System Merit Board.
