Grading is the prerogative of the faculty. The University Grading System is defined in the Catalog. Any deviation from that system must be approved by the department/school, the Dean of the College, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Evaluation of students and award of credit must be based on professionally judged academic performance and not on matters irrelevant to that performance, as detailed in Policy 3.3.12A Faculty Responsibilities to Students and Policy 1.1 Equal Opportunity/Non-Discrimination Statement and Policy. Grades must be submitted by the deadline established by the Office of the Registrar each semester.
