9.4.8 Procedures for Use of Telephone Call Records

I. Collection for Local and Long Distance Billing

Telecommunications and Networking is authorized to collect, store and release internal telephone (cellular, landline and text) call accounting data for the purpose of billing local and long distance telephone calls. Telecommunications and Networking is also authorized to release University billing records to the area administrator or fiscal agent responsible for the payment of these charges, or to the University's internal auditors or University Police upon request.

II. Collection for Special Investigations

Telecommunications and Networking is authorized to collect and store special internal telephone (cellular, landline and text) call accounting data in connection with special investigation requests. The release of University call accounting data in connection with special investigation requests is not authorized without the approval of University General Counsel.
