9.4.6 Procedures for Making Personal Long Distance Telephone and Calling Card Calls

I. Introduction

Faculty, staff and students may place personal long distance telephone calls and personal long distance fax calls from University telephones only through the use of personal calling cards or prepaid calling cards. All calling cards must have a toll-free access number. Campus convenience telephones may also be used to place calls to toll-free access numbers.

II. No Billed-Back Calls

Personal long distance telephone calls and personal long distance fax calls may not be billed back to University telephones. Collect calls may not be accepted on University telephones.

III. Restriction on Personal Calls

University departments may restrict the use of University telephones or fax machines for personal calls and may restrict the use of personal cellular telephones while at work based on the operational needs of the department.
