7.6.6 Establishing a New Agency Account

Policy

Any individual or person representing an organization may request the establishment of an Agency account by submitting a properly completed Request for New Account form. The Comptroller’s Office must approve the request prior to establishment of the account.

New Agency accounts are added when:

  • A new student organization is granted student fees
  • A new material usage fee has been approved and a separate accounting record is required
  • An existing account needs to be split-up to serve user informational needs, etc.

Guidelines

Requesting a New Agency Account

New student organizations requesting an account must contact the Office of Student Life to request funding from student fees. If funding is granted, the Office of Student Life will forward approval to the Budget Office. The Budget Office will then establish the new account number and approved budget.

Current Comptroller's Office policy does not permit accounts to be established for student organizations that have not been granted student fee funding.

For requests for new accounts not involving student fees, complete the Request for New Account form and mail it to the Comptroller, mail code 1100.
