3.1.47 Nursing Mothers in the Workplace

Upon an employee's request, departments shall provide a location within close proximity to the employee's work area, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public, which may be used by an employee to express breast milk for up to one year from the birth of the child.

An employer shall provide reasonable break time each day to an employee who needs to express breast milk for her infant child. Time taken to express milk for an infant should run concurrent, if possible, to the employee's normal break time. If additional break times are needed, they can be taken, but must be discussed in advance with your supervisor and may require vacation usage or unpaid leave time.
